Still trying to get a feel of the 3G Wireless revolution? You better catch up fast, because the 4G revolution is going to hit you very soon.
On Thursday, January 29th, IEEE will be hosting a technical talk by Raziq Yaqub from Toshiba on '4G Wireless Communication Technologies'. Raziq Yaqub is the Executive Director of Toshiba America Research Inc., Piscataway NJ. He has been working on various aspects of IP based wireless communication technologies including Discovery, WLAN-WLAN networking, QoS, Mobility Management and Fast, Secure and Seamless handoff in heterogeneous wireless networks.
The talk will be conducted in four parts. The first quarter will be a brief introduction to 4G Wireless technologies; organizations involved in the standardization of 4G and an updated status of the work being carried out in those organizations. The second quarter will be focused on IEEE based efforts towards 4G that include 802.16e and 802.16m. Third part will focus mainly on 3GPP and 3GPP2- based efforts in standardization of 4G mobile communications systems. The last part will provide some conclusions and open the floor for Q&A.
